The idea
The Night App exists to make going out better — finding venues, planning nights with friends, and remembering them. Everything below exists to keep it a place people actually want to be, on both sides of the app: the people going out and the venues hosting them.
Respect other people
Don’t:
- Harass, bully, or threaten anyone, on or off the app
- Post hateful content — attacks on someone’s race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or similar
- Encourage or glorify violence against a person or group
- Impersonate another person, venue, or DJ
Keep it safe and legal
Don’t:
- Post content depicting or promoting illegal activity
- Promote or facilitate illegal drug use or sale
- Encourage dangerous behavior — drink driving, overserving, anything that puts someone at real risk
- Run scams or fraud through the platform
- Create fake accounts, fake check-ins, or otherwise manipulate the platform’s systems (guest lists, tickets, popularity signals) to misrepresent what’s actually happening
Sexual content & nudity
The Night App is a nightlife app, not an adult platform. Nightlife imagery — venues, dancing, drinks, going out — is exactly what this app is for and isn’t treated as a problem. What isn’t allowed is sexually explicit content, nudity presented sexually, or anything exploitative — including any sexual content involving minors, which results in an immediate, permanent ban and a report to the relevant authorities.
Other people’s privacy
Don’t:
- Post non-consensual intimate content of anyone, under any circumstances
- Dox someone — share their home address, workplace, or other identifying info without consent, to harass or expose them
- Record or upload identifiable footage of people in situations where they’d reasonably expect privacy (for example, inside a bathroom, or a clearly private moment at a venue)
Nightlife videos will often catch other people in the background — that’s normal and not what this section is about. Use judgment about what you’re actually putting someone in.
Play it straight
Don’t:
- Spam — repetitive posts, mass unsolicited messages, fake engagement
- Run fraud or scams, including fake ticket sales outside the platform
- Fake a check-in, guest list approval, or ticket to get access you haven’t earned
Copyright & IP
Only post content you have the rights or permission to use — including any music or audio in your videos. See our Copyright & IP Policy for the full detail, including how rights holders can report infringing content.
What happens if you break these
Depending on what happened and how serious it is, we may:
- Remove the specific content
- Issue a warning
- Restrict certain features on your account
- Temporarily suspend your account
- Permanently terminate your account
We don’t take these actions off the back of a single unverified report — see Content moderation and enforcement in our Terms for how this actually works, and how to appeal a decision.
Each removal, warning, or suspension is recorded against your account. After three, your account is permanently banned, and we also block the device/network you used from ever creating a new account.
Reporting something
You can report a story, post, comment, message, profile, or venue directly from within the app — look for the report option on the content itself. For copyright concerns, use our Copyright & IP Policy form. To report content you believe is illegal (not just against these guidelines), use our Report Illegal Content form.
